Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Mazda CX-9, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Tekonsha vehicle wiring harness kit. But before we get into that, why don't we just check this out and make sure it's gonna work for you. People use these CX-9's to do a lot of different things which does include pulling some trailers around. And if that's what you're gonna be doing you need a way to illuminate all the lights on the trailer. And that's exactly what this kit is gonna do. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Mazda CX-9- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the curt trailer wiring harness on a 2018 Mazda CX-9. So here we have our 4-Pole installed and you can see it's got a nice dust cap protector, and that way it's nice and protected from any dirt, grime or debris. And whenever we're ready to use our plug, it's right there. Now this customer has actually opted to use a bracket to mount it outside, but you can actually have this live inside your vehicle and you just kind of coil it up in the back and whenever you need to use it, you can simply drape it outside of your hatch and it's gonna be safe to use. And it's also gonna stay nice and clean when you're not using it. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Mazda CX-9- Video
Bob: Bob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole flat trailer connector on our 2019 Mazda CX9. Now our Tekonsha wiring is going to give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector and where we have all the required lights to get down the road safely. Whether we're towing a trailer or we have some other kind of hitch mounted accessory that uses lights, our wiring is here to provide us our taillight signal, our turn signals and our brake lights. One thing I do want to mention is we chose to mount our wiring on the outside of the vehicle close to the hitch so it's easily accessible and ready for us. And we're also using a 4-pole bracket to mount it so it's nice and secure, but our bracket is not included with the wiring. But you can find it here at etrailer.com.One thing I really like about our wiring is there's no cutting or splicing at all on the factory wiring. more

Right here we have the Tekonsha part number 119147KIT and over here we have the Curt part number C59236. Now to determine if your vehicle has a factory tow package, it's going to be in the back passenger corner. Now you will need to remove this panel and the tow package has an eight pin plug on it.If your Mazda has a factory tow package, this is going to be the hardest for you. One connection, a ground, and then just running your wire out to your receiver. more

It's going to give you all the proper lighting functions to safely tow your trainer. It's going to come with an included dust cap that's going to help keep your connections clean from any dirt and debris. The kit is going to come with all the necessary hardware to get it installed. Let's go ahead and take a look at that now.This is what your wiring kit's going to look like when you get it. You're going to use your fuse holder, some black silicone, you're going to get your power wire that's going to run through the back of the vehicle up to the battery. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Mazda CX9, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with a four pole side trailer connector. That's part number 118278.Here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. I do want to mention we did use a bracket to mount our wiring more permanently outside by our hitch, because, traditionally, our wiring is meant to stay on the inside of the vehicle. Our wiring is going to provide us with the four-pole flat trailer connector to get us all the lights we need to safely and legally get down the road with our trailer, like our tail lights, turn signals, and our stop lights.Our wiring is going to plug directly into an existing plug that's on our vehicle already. Our wiring's also going to have a converter box to convert those signals into working signals to go out to our trailer. Also, to protect our wiring and our vehicle from any kind of back feeding or problems that may arise on the trailer end. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Mazda CX-9, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 56016.Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed, and it's going to give us all the required lights to tow our trailer down the road, including our clearance lights, turn signals, and brake lights. When we're not towing it, it's going to store nicely out of the way right here in our spare tire compartment. Whenever we are ready to use it, as you saw, we can just pull it out, drape it down, and hook it up to our trailer.Now that we've seen how our wiring looks after it's installed, let's go show you how we got it installed.To begin our installation, we're going to open up our rear hatch, and we're going to need to remove the floor covering right here. So we can simply just fold up, and then we're going to have to pull this panel out underneath where our spare tire tools are. We come to this cover back here and we lift up and actually take the whole cover and we're going to set it aside. We're also going to need to remove this cover as well, and we'll set it aside too.On each end of our cargo area, right towards the back of our hatch, we're going to have these cargo hooks. more

We can either zip tie it or take a self-tapping screw and firmly secure it to a flat area. The Hopkins does not provide us with any double-sided tape, but there is holes on each side of our converter box, so we can zip tie it to a flat surface as well.One other thing I like about the Tekonsha is you can see there's an epoxy-type material right here where the wires are coming in from my converter box, and that's going to be a potting material. more

Today on our 2106 Mazda CX-9 we're going to be showing you how to install the Tekonsha Upgraded Modulite Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit with the 4-pole flat trailer connector. The part number is 119147KIT. Now here's what our kit's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. Here's the main part of the system, that's that 4-pole flat trailer connector. This is going to allow us to plug in cargo carriers and trailers and have fully functioning lights. This is going to give us our right turn and brake, our left turn and brake, our running light signal, and our ground. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Mazda CX-9 118278- Video
Today on our 2016 Mazda CX 9, we'll be installing Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness for the factory tow package. This will will give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118278. When we've arrived at our and we've unhooked from our trailer, we can replace the dust cap on our wiring, open our hatch on up, open this compartment on up, and store our wiring inside of it. It's tucked up out of the way, we don't have to worry about any of our cargo damaging it, and it's there for when we need it. Whenever we want to use our wiring, we just got to lift up on this cover, lift it out, set it to the side of our trunk latch, put it down by our hitch, and then close our trunk on up. All right, here's what our wiring harness comes with. We have our wiring harness here with a plug that goes to the factory tow package wiring in our rear hatch. more

On this 2015 Mazda CX-9, we're going to review and install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 56016. With the part number this is what you get. This is our wire harness right here. This is our 4-pole end connector that comes with a cover. The module, the T-connectors that plug into the wire harness on the vehicle. The T with the yellow wire goes to your driver's side, and the T with the green wire goes to the passenger's side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today on our 2010 Mazda CX9 we're going to install the CURT 4-pole wiring trailer connector, part number 56016. Now to use our new 4-pole connector we'll simply open up the rear cargo area, storage component, taking our 4-pole harness, running it out over the rear threshold. Stay away from the latch, as pinching it off in the latch can damage the wire. However, our weather stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear hatch on it. Then we can take our 4-pole connector and run it down to our hitch and use it with our accessory. Then once we're done we'll simply open up the rear hatch, the rear storage compartment, where we're going to house the 4-pole connector. To begin our install we'll first open up the rear hatch. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Mazda CX-9 119147KIT- Video
Today in our 2013 Mazda CX-9, we'll be installing the Tow Ready, Custom Fit, Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole connector, Part Number 119147KIT. Now to begin our install, we're first going to go ahead and open up the rear cargo door. Next, I'll go ahead and open up the rear cargo compartment and remove the corner pieces. Then we will remove the two pushpin fasteners that secure the rear cargo compartment To remove these fasteners, we'll take a small, bladed 00:00:32 screwdriver, pry up on the center, and then remove the fastener completely. Now with the fasteners out of the way, go ahead and pull up on the center cargo tray and gently remove it from the vehicle, setting it aside for installation later. Next, for viewing purposes, we'll going to go ahead and remove the L-shaped trim piece here on the driver side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today, on our 2012 Mazda CX-9, we'll be installing the T-One Connector withUpgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite from Tow Ready, part number 118520.Now, we'll begin the installation by opening the rear door and folding the rear seatsforward. We'll now go ahead and remove the interior panels. We'll remove the trunkfloor panel, as well as the threshold. Now, we'll set those aside for reinstallation later.Now, on both sides of the vehicle, we'll need to remove the cargo loops. We'll do thisso that we can pull the trim panels away, to gain access to the plugs in the factorywiring harness. Now, here on the drivers side, we'll need to disconnect the factoryharness here at this plug. more

Today on our 2012, Mazda CX9, well be installing Tow Ready T-1 connector module light kit, part number 118520. Now, to begin our install well simply open the rear cargo door. Well need to remove the lower panel here. Well need to undo the two bolts holding in the cargo tie-downs. With our tray removed, we can go ahead and remove our rear threshold. Now, that our interiors disassembled, well peel the side panel away to expose our taillight connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-9 118520- Video
Today on this 2010 Mazda CX9 were going to install part number 118520 from Tow-Ready. The first thing need to do is open up the back hatch. What we need to do is get access behind the tail light so that means have to remove all the floor coverings. It looks like Ive got to take the subwoofer now and move it out of the way so we can move this panel out. Well unsnap our electrical connector and we get back to the threshold and remove it. Theres a tie down loop here and here we have to remove. more
